The Story: Forget anything timid — this Shiraz demands attention. The 2023 growing season struck the perfect balance — warm days, cool nights, and a long, even ripening period brought out vibrant flavours and expressive aromas.
Made from the same fruit as the 2023 Reserve du Patron Shiraz, the winemaker used cultured yeasts to elevate red cherry and dark plum notes. Aged 2.5 years in American oak, the wine’s natural spice is enhanced and the oak contributes additional tannic structure, giving it a firm backbone alongside bold, expressive fruit.
Unfined and lightly filtered, the wine preserves the character that nature put in. Shiraz is my pet-favourite varietal and this is one of the finest Shiraz wines I’ve made with the fruit giving its best and my hands shaping but never overwhelming it.
Perfect With: Richly-flavoured beef, lamb, or vegetarian dishes - think Middle Eastern or Oriental flavours and spices. Serve at 16–20°C, and decant to allow the wine to breathe.
